This time, I'd like to ask those who have worked in both locations, about the kids.

We all know what a (sometimes literal) pain in the ass Korean kids can be. How would you compare the students in Taiwan?

Why I ask? Right now I'm trying to decide if I should take up an exceptionally good offer in Taichung just to go work at a job I've come to... not want to do any more. (yeah, that's a nice way to put it)

Dealing with kids and the madness of the owners in relation to the kids (for example, if the kid is kicking their classmates in the mouth and causing severe bleeding, THE KID SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY... ahem, excuse me) has drained me to the point I'm considering ending my Asian adventure for good.

That's nothing. I had a kid stab another kid in the face with scissors. I kicked the fuckng *beep* out of class for good. My boss wondered why he was standing out in the hallway and why another kids face was cut. I told her the situation and she told me that I needed to "love" my students more.

What the fck you mean I have to love them more? Little gangster just stabbed pedro here in the face and you want me to love him?

I refused to let the kid back into class. Everytime they sent him into class, I would send him back out until his parents were notified. This went on for a week. His behavior would continue to to suck, then one day when he spit on a girl after kicking her in the head, I dragged his rotten ass to the directors door and said he was not allowed in class anymore.

What happens? Aboslutely nothing, Until I got home at 9pm when I got a phone call requesting that I come back in for a meeting with the kids mom and dad. You gotta be joking. I just got home, it's freezing outside and I have to walk for 20 minutes back to the school to meet with his parents when nobody notified me beforehand that his parents would be coming in that evening?

I went back in and what happens? I get to sit there until midnight, and not say a word to anyone, because his parents don't speak English. Eventually the kid was taken out of the school, but I will always be the mean waygook that terrorized their son. I fucking hated that kid so much.

If you work ar Kid's College, I feel bad for you.

weather: edge taiwan
overall money: edge korea
kids: kindergarten- the same. elementary school- korean kids more violent. the beating and bashing they do here is much worse than what i saw in 5 yrs. in taiwan. middle school-about the same with korean kids being more beaten down, less energetic as required by the system. overall, the kids here seem to have less joy.
