I've heard about it. Anyone have info whether teachers can be blacklisted from working in Korea, or not.
I'm wondering if I've been blacklisted for complaining about a korean teacher abusing students.

The various hakwon associations mantain a blacklist of their own but it has nothing to do with immigration and may stop you from working in a city but won't keep you out of the country or stop you from finding a job in another city.
Immigration maintains a list of persons who are persona non grata (banned from entry) for those who have had a run-in with the law or violated immigration rules (and been caught).
It is unlikely that you have been legally banned without a conviction or being fined or at least prosecuted by some legal authority.

I've had recruiters tell me that 'if I break my current contract' immigration will not give me another visa.
Fear tactics.
Hakwons may keep your name and pass it between them but I doubt there's a common blacklist database or site they use. It's b.s.
Supply and demand. And with the new legislation demand is going to skyrocket.
It's a myth. |

I've seen a list from a hakwon owner's association. It exists. I'll try to find it again. |

LOL if I'm not blacklisted in the area I worked for years then it's impossible to be blacklisted. They don't care, as long as you look half decent and do your job. |

If your name does appear on the blacklist in the link above, you have grounds for a suit. The list is illegal in that it is slander/libel. It is also an attempt to interfere with your right to seek employment. |

If your name is ̸ ˻ or , you are in DEEP doodoo.
Lots of people who've filed with Labor or been fired by crappy hagwons have been hired at other teaching jobs. |

My name was on this link in 2006 and I emailed the people responsible for the website and threatened legal action and my name has since been removed from this list. |

Richard Kranium just sent me a very urgent Private Message-uh. It states that Rochie should type the word, "Word!", again.
Alright, here it goes, eh, Ree-Shard:
"Word!"
Nice, huh?!

That's awesome. You should contact them and tell them you're going to take them to court. |
