I'm coming to Korea soon and I've heard some really mixed stuff about footwear in the summer. I haven't worn anything but sandals in the summer for my whole life, but I hear that Koreans look down upon sandals without socks? There's no way everyone wears socks with sandals... are we talking flats? Even heels? What do you wear in the summer? |

If you work in a public school then you have to wear socks with your sandals. You can also buy these little nylons that only cover your toes to get around this issue. You can wear whatever you want on your own time. I've seen lots of Koreans wear sandals without socks. |

Last summer I didn't wear socks from June to Mid- September and that includes working at school. |

I'm going to stop wearing socks with sandals at work when it warms up and see what happens. Probably just crazy comments from the kids.
Last year I hiked a busy mountain wearing Chaco sandals. The Koreans were absolutely dumbfounded how sandals could be worn on the mountain. |
