I just bought Seasons 2 and 3 of The Wire from the DVD sellers in Yongsan and there is a message coming up saying "This player is incompatible with the region marking of this disc."
WTF does that mean??? I bought all the Sopranos seasons and Wire season 1 and they were fine. |

There are different region codes. The same thing happned to me. DVD's from N.A won't work in Korea. Those were burnt with the N.A code. Most of the ones I got worked. I only had problems with a couple seasons of the wore and the shield. I took them back and the guy exchanged them for me. |

If you are on a PC you can change the region code on your PC easily. I had DVD player that you could change the code in the menu here a while back so you could try that as well. |

Depending on how big your monitor is, you could also watch them on your PC. Try downloading the VLC video player. I've been using it for a few years; it's region-free and I've had no trouble with it.

Google: dvd player region hack
Find your dvd player make and model.
Reset your player yourself. |

Instead of going to Yongsan, you can save time and money with this recipe:
Bittorrent + dvd burner + a case of dvd's + http://www.piratebay.org |

If you have an S-video out on your computer, you probably can hook it up to your TV with an S-video cable.
Also, uTorrent is much better than bittorent, though it takes some getting used to.
However, there are plenty of cheap DVDs available at EMart, LotteMart, etc. and online. Lots of older classics, like Casablanca, for under 4,000 won. And genuine. |

Take 'em back, tell the guy (or any guy for that matter) that they don't work. The DVD vendors in Yongsan are usually eager to replace/exchange goods in order to keep your business. |

He has sold you a faulty product. You should go to the police and tell them what you told us. |
