Is severence pay paid at the same time as the last month of the contracts pay (ie the 25th of February) even if the contract runs out on the 28th of February?

Also can you receive the severence pay for the 1st year even if you are re-signing with the school for a second year?

Ask your school when they will pay you.

It's not "severance" it's a bonus for completing the contract, so, yes, you get it if you renew.

This is all in the contract.

"Severance pay" is the correct term, even if you are renewing.

When I started with Gangwon epik, they let it accumulate year-by-year until you left. As the program got bigger, they realized that policy could create huge budgeting problems, so they switched to annual payout. I imagine thats the same with all the various epik clones now.

It wont be paid out on your last regular payday -- you have to wait until actual completion of the contract. If you are leaving your job, it should be paid that same day or very promptly after. If you are renewing, they'll likely drag their feet a bit before depositing it in your account. In my province last year it took 6 weeks on average (some districts more, some less).
