I am resigning my PS job. I was wondering if there is a certain format I need to follow for the PS. Will any old letter saying I quit do?

There is a form letter / example in the K-teachers "care and feeding of your pet foreigner" handbook that they would like you to use.

It is NOT required and any letter will do.

*cough*

Scrap the letter, and pull a midnight runner after your next paycheck.

how often do people even do midnight runs when they work at a public school though?

i'm thinking about quitting to, but how enforced is the 60 days notice thing?

If you don't have anything holding you here, pull a disappearing act. I know I'd be doing this today, but I'm tied. Thanks, pension office. If I want to pull a runner, I have to figure out a way to get to a far-away pension office and jump through that hoop. Then I have to clean out my desk. After that, I have to empty my bank account. Then I have to wait on my flight out. All along hoping no one at my outfit notices. Ya gotta do it right if you're gonna do it.

No one is forgotten faster than an English teacher in Asia. They'll act like you never existed two hours after you're gone. Don't worry with a resignation letter or even giving a notice if they've pissed you off enough to quit early. They're not worth the courtesy. If they've been good to you, then definitely give them a notice in the form of a letter.

This is not an option. My wife is Korea. I've been here about 10 years and have no intention of leaving anytime soon. I am quitting my ps job to take another job making aroung 4 times the money the PS school paid me.

This is what I was wondering. I typed up a letter last night that says I enjoyed it but I moving on. That is what they will get. If they want a form letter they can write it themselves.

Thanks

Wow. FOUR times? That's pretty impressive. You're making the right move. The world economy is grinding to a slowdown. Now is the time to do a job switcheroo. Not in early March. By then it'll be tougher to find a job and there will be more competition for that job.

You'll be sailing along several months into your new contract, all safe and sound, come March.

Turned in resignation letter today. They were not very happy, but I've got to look out for number one.

The principal kept asking me to explain why I was leaving. My reply was that is was personal and private, therefore I was not going to discuss it. He just did not seem able to grasp this idea.
