|
|
Hey, all. On my way back to Seoul, this time for about 6 months. So while I apt search, I am looking for cheap, private accomodations (preferably not a guest house) in Seoul si, perhaps around Seoul station--the only neighborhood with which I am familiar.
Cheap = 30,000 or less per night, particularly if I am going to be there for at least two weeks. For amonth stay in a motel, I'd like to pay 300,000 to 500,000 depending on niceness.
Any suggestions appreciated! |

Have a look at the website www.english.tour2korea.com
and look at the 'accommodation'. There are a number of cheap Hotel's and other options listed. |

Why would you want to stay near Seoul Station? It's a grotty area and rather dull at night. Do you like bed bugs?
Suggest you determine where you want to apartment hunt first, then grab a motel room in that neighborhood.
You can easily find a room for W30,000 anywhere in the northern part of Seoul. Kangnam might be trickier but still possible. |

Seconded. Not to hijack the thread, but what is the fascination Koreans have with Kangnam? It's really dull and lifeless, mostly. Yes, it has wider streets and richer people live there, but I still don't see the attraction.
Better schools for the kids, I guess? The "panache"? Property prices are absolutely outrageous there.
I don't know. Maybe Seoul and (by extension) Korea sucks. Yet here I am. Wouldn't sacrifice my first born (if I had one) to live in Kangnam, but many Koreans seem very willing to do so given the chance. |

true....i never understood the attraction to Gangnam. Full of kuntz...pardon my German. I'd much prefer other less pretentious areas of Seoul. |

Unfortunately, the powers that be are determined to turn Kangbuk into another Kangnam as well.
In ten or twenty years, the whole city will be mainly shiny steel and glass, quite ugly on the whole and ridiculously overpriced.
Someone's gettin' paid, but it sure ain't English teachers. |
