Where does one go to get an American haircut where the barber can understand all the American terminology so I don't get a jacked up haircut?
Any suggestions? |

Apgujeong, Hongdae, possibly Itaewon. Certainly in the two former locations, there will be good young stylists that know the terminologies in English. Might cost a lot though. Tbh, I've never had any complaints with the 12,000 Won haircut which I get at a local Tanhyun dong salon. You could just tell your co-worker what you want and get her to write it in Korean for you to take to the salon.... |

What's an American haircut? Is it anything like Canadian hockey-hair?
You could try cutting your own hair. I've been doing it for years. |

A guy I worked with found a picture in a magazine and took it with him. He ended up with a pretty good haircut. |

Um...
"Most people look like they don't have hair cuts..."
I got to wonder if you are looking at the right people. Check out your typical businessman in the morning...they got haircuts alright.
I goto one of the salons in myungdong, Seoul. DO NOT go to your neighbourhood haircutting place, they don't know wtf they are doing. At the salons, you will get a better cut (and service) than you will find in America.
Bringing a photo works too. Good luck on the speaking English part...never had luck with that. I just show them old photos of me with a cut I like, the rest is magic. |
