Belle:

In June of 2005, you made this post. Part of my reason for asking is to keep you good sale bumped-up to the top, but the other is that I'm always curious about how peoples' Korea experience went. How would you rate your 2 1/2 years here? Did you end up landing a job back home? In another country? What prompted your decision to leave?

I like to track why people are leaving these days. Is it due to new visa rule hassles, by chance?

Believe me, you are not wasting your time. I did what I was supposed to. Went to college, got a job, bought a house, 2 cars, just bought a dishwasher in April. And all I could see ahead was 30 more years of scrounging to make the mortgage and having my boss breathing down my neck for not doing things exactly as he would have in my place. My whole reward for this would have been substandard pay for what was expected and an additional week of vacation every 5 years which I would have to spend at home because I can't afford to go any place.

Now I'm trying to get someone to rent my house while I sell most of my stuff so I can run away to Korea.

You are not wasting your time. I have wasted mine.
