I live in the country. I took a trip to Seoul for a few days and had a hard time finding motels. I will pay for a clean nice room. I'm assuming W 50,000 on a weekend would be the going rate.

***I do know one area. It is along line 2 of the subway at a stop called Sillim. Take exit 6. You come out at the corner of a street. Keep walking straight, you will take a slight turn. Walk a short distance and take your second left. Walk a short distance and then take your first right. You should be in the motel district. The very first one to your left has a Yeogwan feel to it, but has all the amenities of a love motel to it. (Internet, 42 inch flat screen). Smaller rooms, but you can actually control the heat. Got a weeknight rate of W35,000. I thought it was cheaper than what I heard about Seoul. The motel next to it, avoid at all costs. Overpriced and not very clean or warm.***

Please help me and other foriegners out by giving detailed directions about other motels in Seoul.

Yeah, I've been to Shillim many times. There are scores of love motels and massage parlors (puns sort of intended) in the area. I got the weekend rate of 40,000. It's a good area in that you know you'll be able to easily find a vacancy, and it's on the green line.

If you can navigate Korean sites, and if you know different areas of Seoul, try www.hotel365.co.kr It's a directory of love motels in Seoul and Gyeonggi.

Sorry, I don't know any specifics. Looks like the Gangseo area has a lot of cheap motels, but that part of town is a little out of the way for people.
