I need a place to stay in Gwangju for a month.
Can't live with relatives.
Any ideas other than Love Motels?
Maybe a dorm room or something? |

| I think some of the goshiwons around the universities will rent you a room a month at a time. |

What's a "goshiwon"?
Never heard of those before.
Any more on the North side of downtown? |

I think Love Motels cost 30,000 per night, but if you stay a month, I would ask for a reduction to maybe 20,000 per night.
Goshiwons, are usually for Korean students, and I'm told cost around 200,000 per month + it would be unusual for foreigners to stay there...
I am looking for place myself.

| Off the top of my head, I know three foreigners living in goshiwons at Chonnam University's business school back gate. |

Do you know what they're paying and if the rooms are any good?
Chonnam would be a good area. |

I've only been to one of their rooms. Quite nice, if you can live in a small space.
Another told me she is paying less than $300/month, no key money.
Sorry I don't have many details, I'm just saying it's possible. BTW, these people speak poor to no Korean.
For me, I need more space. |
