So I heard about this bible study/prayer group called Catacombs through some friends and friends of friends and I was wondering if anyone had ever been there? It's every Tuesday at 7pm, I think. I've heard that it's good, but I can't even find where it's at...I know it's in, at, or near Samgakji station, but after arriving there I have no idea what to do.

It's supposedly involved with the group Helping Hands Korea, and I volunteered a few Saturdays for them, and even emailing them directly hasn't gotten me anything.

Help?

Also, if you don't know anything about Catacombs, but know of any good advocacy groups, prayer groups or volunteer organizations that'd be great. They don't have to be Christian or anything, I'm just tired of being a waste of space. Thanks.

The people you volunteer with on Saturdays should be able to tell you where the meetings are. In any case it's exit 2 at the station. Once you reach the top of the escalator, there will be a small path to your left. Go through the path and ye shall find to your right.

Every meeting is completely different; you don't know what to expect. I like to go because it's really informational. They update you on the latest conferences, protests, and other events or news. One week, two American lawyers came to explain how the NK regime is involved in a fraudulent insurance scam.

Other times people from NGO's will come and talk about their organization. If you're interested in helping orphans or the disabled in North Korea, see http://lighthousefoundation.co.kr. The organization may still need some help with administration in the office and writing English newsletters and updating the website; you can probably inquire via email about that.

Another time a couple of women came from http://www.tumenriverschool.com/ but they didnt get to really talk at that meeting due to time. You might be interested in that school if you ever want to teach English to North Koreans in China...

You'll meet a lot of different people at the meetings: Activists, students, missionaries, journalists, former North Korean refugees etc. It's a good opportunity to network and learn more about NK.

fyi - Starting from tomorrow, Tim Peters isn't going to be there for three weeks but the meetings will be led by different people.
