Well?
And, before you post "You forgot to add "Blah Blah Blah," know that I posted the people that would actually get votes in the poll... |

With all due respect to your two poorly formulated threads...
Your Mom will be the Republican Vice Presidential candidate. |

The only one in the list I see as a possible is Fred Thompson.
Of course Huckabee is an interesting choice but
he has way too many flaws.
I still hold out hope for Powell.
Also being bantered about is SC Gov. Mike Sanford. (another Maverick). |

Lieberman has already said no in an interview. I've repeately said Powell won't even be in the mix. "Dead Fred" Thompson ran such a half *** campaign in the primary he would bring McCain down. Ron Paul has too big of an ego and is running an anti-war campaign which conflicts with McCain's support of the war. Keyes is a carpetbagger and a has-been.
What does that leave you with?
Huckabee
In interviews Huckabee has said he is not even considering it. Now, maybe he would privately (though if he did it publically he'd be hurting his campaign)
There are plenty of other Republicans though. |

Meh, Powell would be perfect, but having a 71 year old McCain and a 77 year old Powell on the hustings would not be pretty.
JC Watts could be an option. He's relatively young, experienced, respected, and black. He's also a Baptist and could help rally the base. |

A Conservative Conservationist?
Why the Right Needs to Get Invested in the Search for Climate Change Solutions
By Mark Sanford
Friday, February 23, 2007; Page A19
When George W. Bush, The Post and the insurance giant Lloyd's of
London agree on something, it's obvious a new wind is blowing. The
climate change debate is here to stay, and as America warms to the idea
of environmental conservation on a grander scale, it's vital that
conservatives change the debate before government regulation expands
yet again and personal freedom is pushed closer toward extinction.
The fact is, I'm a conservative and a conservationist -- and that's okay.
For the past 20 years, I have seen the ever-so-gradual effects of rising
sea levels at our farm on the South Carolina coast. I've had to watch
once-thriving pine trees die in that fragile zone between uplands and salt
marshes. I know the climate change debate isn't over, but I believe
human activity is having a measurable effect on the environment.
The real "inconvenient truth" about climate change is that some people
are losing their rights and freedoms because of the actions of others -- in
either the quality of the air they breathe, the geography they hold dear,
the insurance costs they bear or the future environment of the children
they love.

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford
Born: May 28, 1960
Birth State: South Carolina
Party: Republican
Spouse: Jenny Sanford
Family: Married Jenny Sullivan; four children
Religion: Episcopalian
School(s): Furman University, University of Virginia
Address: P.O. Box 12267
Columbia, SC
29211
Phone: 803/734-2100
Fax: 803/734-5167
Higher Office(s) Served: Representative
Mark Sanford was elected governor in 2002 and re-elected in 2006,
becoming only the third two-term governor in modern state history.
As governor, Sanfords adopted budget proposals have saved tens of
millions of dollars. In 2003, South Carolina was in a $1 billion financial
hole, but through the governors push for fiscal responsibility was able to
start the 2007 budget process in the black for the first time in 16 years.
Under Governor Sanfords leadership, South Carolina passed
comprehensive tort reform and cut the marginal income tax rate -- both
firsts in state history. At the end of 2006, there were 150,000 more
people working than there were working when Governor Sanford took
office. This increased represented a 15-year record for employment
growth.
Sanford brought the Department of Motor Vehicles into the governors
Cabinet, and reforms there have reduced wait times by 66 percent. The
landmark campaign finance reform and commerce disclosure reform bills
signed by Sanford have brought sunlight and accountability to state
government, and, for the first time ever, campaign disclosure reports are
now available online. Sanford has held monthly "Open Door After 4"
meetings in his office, where anyone from anywhere in the state can
come by for a visit.

Sanford would make an interesting choice. He's from the east coast, he's got experience as an executive. |

I chose Ronald Reagan's corpse. Because he certainly spends a lot of time on the campaign trail kissing the corpse's ass.
He's such a big target right now I doubt anybody who doesn't want political suicide will team up with him. Romney and Huck may want another go for president in '12.
Of course, he could be a true "maverick" and have Larry Craig on the ticket. That would send a message to the GOP. |

Would it not be slightly less ghoulish to go for Nancy? She's still living and was the real brains (along with her astrologer) in that outfit. |
