The chart is very revealing.
While there are nearly nine ( 9 ) times as many illegal Chinese working in Korea and just as many illegal Vietnamese, Korean immigration rejects twice as many Thais as Chinese and nearly 30 times as many Thais as Vietnamese.
Why do they pick on the Thais?
My take: Thailand has not rolled over and taken it in free trade and other economic negotiations with Korea. Thailand poses an economic challenge to Korea in agriculture, more and more in manufacturing.
Don't think this doesn't foster bad feelings toward the country among the Korean bureaucracy. And don't think this ill will doesn't permeate every agency in the Korean government, including immigration. |
