I've been looking for the stuff but all the Koreans I've asked have had a blank look on their faces. Also, is the Korean version similar to the Southeast Asian varieties? |

You can get namplaa (anchovy sauce) made in Thailand or Vietnam at any international market...heck my local K-grocery store even stocks it, got three different brands of oyster sauce as well. There are Korean brands of anchovy sauce but I don't recommend them. |

I buy fish sauce all the time at E Mart. It says fish sauce right on it. It's usually in the soy sauce and ethnic sauces section. It's got a tan colored label on it if memory serves. |

I use fish sauce in Thai cooking but I thought you of all people would know what it's used for. |

Yeah, I mostly eat Thai here but the things you use fish sauce for the ingredients aren't available here. The only thing we use fish sauce for here is to sprinkle over fried rice shrimp or pork. |
