Anyone mention this abomination of Korean education yet? My GF mentioned it last week but I didn't see anything about it until Monday when the KT mentioned it in their Monday "what Koreans are googl...errr navering" bit.

Basically a daycare center that takes in kids of lower class parents decided to punish a four year old girl by making her stand naked outside in the cold. Apparently this wasn't the first time this happened. The school was reported by, get this, a foreigner. The daycare was Korean run. (No word if the daycare decided to sue the foreign woman for insulting King Sejong or something.)

Anyway, I can only imagine the heaven and earth moved if a foreigner did this at a hagwon.

It was actually a poster on here (not sure of their handle, seem to remember it being about cabbages), with the help of RACETRAITOR and his wife who actually got this brought to the medias attention. I thing the thread was moved to the off topic forum, although I'm not sure why.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a horrifying incident, a three-year-old girl was "forced" to drink urine by her class teacher in an Anganwadi in Kerala's Thrissur district.

The incident occurred at Vellarampadam Anganwadi in Varandarappalli on October 31. According to official sources, anganwadi worker Mary Dominic gave urine to the girl in a spoon after she wetted her dress while sleeping in class.

Confirming the incident, Kerala social welfare secretary Usha Titus said, "The lady apparently believed that children could be cured of the habit of wetting in sleep if they are administered a spoonful of urine. So when the girl passed urine in her sleep, she tried her own way to cure it."

The child reported the incident to her father who in turn gave a written complaint to the Panchayat. "Our department came to know about the matter on November 3 and the Anganwadi worker was immediately placed under suspension. A detailed inquiry will be held into the incident and punitive action taken against her if found guilty," she said.

"The worker seems to have pleaded with the child's family not to proceed with the complaint any further. May be due to that, the child's father is now saying that he has no complaint," said Titus. Official sources also disclosed that the woman was issueless and a little "off her mind". She would get angry very soon, they said.
