You have two things working against you right now. First, it is winter time and watermelons are harder to come by. Second, it is Lunar New Year week; all fruit is outrageously priced. I saw a box of ten big apples for 125,000 won at a normal, neighborhood supermarket. |

The watermelon in Korea is awful anyway - all colourless and flavourless.
I wouldn't waste my money no matter the price. |

dude, I was in Japan and at the local grocery market 25,000W~ is average. If the watermelon has a "T" root coming from it, than it was even more... then there are the square watermelons... 80,000 a pop or something like that...
Agreed with the comment about fruit prices being gouged due to the Chinese New Year. but hey, during the summer, 3-7,000W makes for a nice treat. |

Are you kidding me??? I don't know where you are from, but I am from Canada and I refuse to eat watermelon here because there is no taste in it. The watermelon I have eaten here taste like they have shot it full of sugar (in fact I would be suprised if they didn't). Korea has many faults, but watermelon is not one of them. And yes they are way over priced this time of year. |

Of course watermelon will be expensive when it's out of season, and not very good. Get it when it's in season, and cheap. End of story. |

Funny! I was on the mokoli when I wrote that one. Wow. That post was worse than my usual ones and that is saying something. I guess I meant that watermelon in Korea tastes way better than in Canada. There is no comparison in my mind. I would never eat watermelon in Canada, but I can't enough of it here. |
