|
|
I've been told about babysitting jobs for my girlfriend.
As said in other threads she has an MBA from Canada, but she's Chinese.
We really are having a hard time getting her any type of job opportunities... in fact, it's so bad I'm posting this thread. haha
So yes, she would teach Chinese at a Hagwon for 1.2 million won as one poster said, and I guess babysitting has become a new viable alternative.
Is it possible to get a visa for babysitting?
Does anyone have recommendations about this pursuit? Any agencies or companies to deal with?
It's a shame when a girl with an MBA, 3 years of marketing experience, and the ability to speak fluent Chinese and English, has to follow some guy like me to South Korea where she is now looking at babysitting jobs as a way to work.
But that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes... so any information you might have helps us.
Thanks in advance. |

Again, it doesn't make much sense for you and your bilingual girlfriend to come to Korea when you'd have no problem landing a university gig teaching either management or English in China and she would have many quality job options and feel much more comfortable there. |

To both Hari and Seldon,
I appreciate your comments about where we should relocate, however, this isn't something we planned overnight.
We researched the markets in China, and for us at this point, the money would not be earned at as quick a rate as in SK.
In China we could both work. In SK, even if just I work and I pay for her schooling we still might earn more money in SK.
I know at first it doesn't sound right, but I prefer to go to get out of debt as fast as possible. Once that happens, we move accordingly based on the path of least resistance. However, right now, I want to get the banks off my back immediately and I'm prepared to work hard to do that.
Also, I want to go to SK, and we are looking at it as a life-experience. Although it won't be as easy, it will be an adventure.
Don't worry, we're going to China eventually.
Just realize one thing... the South Koreans have become the largest foreign students in Canada, surpassing the Chinese. I'm from Canada. This means that the Koreans offer a lot of opportunity on the international market that I want to check out before I go into China. Anything I can get started in Korea will make market penetration into China that much easier.
I do appreciate the opinions though guys. I had planned on China for a long long time, but this option truly is a stronger one at this time. That might change after one year, but at least then my MBA is paid off. |

Okay,
After a short period it's been decided that babysitting is in fact NOT a viable option.
HEHE
Thanks to those that contributed. I will pursue other options. |

Then leave the girlfriend at home, come here and teach. |
