I want to make handouts for the upcoming school year with space for students to copy words. The general level is very low, so I want there to be guide-lines for them to write between.... like two continuous parallel lines and a dashed line between them... you know what I mean!

I can't figure out if there is a way to do this in MS Word. Can anyone help??

I would just do this:

and increase the font size as needed. ..

Maybe this isn't the most time-efficient way of doing it though (even though you could copy and paste!)...

If they are children who need to trace the letters, I'm sure there are many places on the internet where you could find such worksheets. A quick search returned this website.

Make a table one column wide (that column will be the width of the page) with as many rows as you want lines. Then with the borders just put them on the bottom of each cell (and not the sides).

I used this site and used a blank sheet of lines and copied onto the back of the worksheet for them to have more space to practice. Some were basic and some were cursive.

I guess what I'm looking for is a font that allows you to type with guidelines and then leave space for students to copy. I'm dealing with very low level students here. I definitely didn't think it would be this difficult! I spent 2 hours yesterday afternoon trying to figure out an easy way to do it to no avail.

What handwriting style do you want? It's hard/impossible to find a good D'Nealian handwriting font, although that may not be what you're looking for. I have one called DMOB that has blank lines available, but I think it's a demo.
