Steppenwolf, "Born to be Wild".

Most overdone, over-rated, overplayed "bad-boy movie" song ever.

Do you mean what sounds cheesy now? Or what was cheesy when it came out?

These songs you mention, except for Limp Biscuit, were really cool when they came out.

'Tragedy' by Steps might be the most cheesy song ever, when it came out.

Or Agadoo by Black Lace.

Brace youselves, music fans.....

i mean cheesy when they came out. thats why i mentioned the limp dik song

others mentioned the "born to be wild" etc, and i agree, they were cool to begin with. overexposure ruined them

slightly off-topic (but since im in the off-topic forum, surely thats ok) here, but one of the worst party-song cliches is "throw your hands in the air" how many decades is it going to be before song-writers realize that that is a really shatty line

so i love the jon spencer blues explosion song where jon says "everybody throw your hands in the air. and kiss my ass. cuz your girlfriend still loves me"

If you're talking about "hackneyed cliches" contained within a song, the winner (loser) has to be...

Back to One Brian McKnight

Its undeniable that we should be together
Its unbelievable, how I used to say that Id fall never
The basis is need to know
If you just dont know how I feel
Then let me show you that now Im for real
If all the things in time, time will reveal
Yeah

One, youre like a dream come true
Two, just wanna be with you
Three, girl its plain to see
That youre the only one for me and
Four, repeat steps one through three
Five, make you fall in love with me
If ever I believe my work is done
Then Ill start back at one

(yeah)
Its so incredible, the way things work themselves out
And all emotional, once you know what its all about, hey
And undesirable, for us to be apart
I never wouldve made it very far
cause you know you got the keys to my heart
cause...

(Repeat chorus)

Say farewell to the dark of night
I see the coming of the sun
I feel like a little child, whose life has just begun
You came and breathed new life into this lonely heart of mine
You threw out the life line
Just in the nick of time

Pure ear-vomit. It literally makes my eyes water just reading the lyrics. Oh, it hurts.....

Yep, that "Jesus, Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood is pretty frickin' awful.
I never understood that "I just put my life in Jesus' hands" hogwash.
What the he!! does that mean anyway?

That awful dumba$$ rap "I'll take you to the candy shop. I'll let you lick the lollipop" by who is it 50cent?
What does he get a 4th grader to write his lyrics?
Just hearing it destroys brain cells.

That tremendously idiotic song was a huge hit in America.

It hurts my soul!!!
