Must I leave this fine country the same day my E2 expires, or before? Do I have a three day grace period to get my affairs in order? I'm scheduled to work right up until the last minute and that just sucks. I want to go shopping before I split.
Thanks, |

you must leave by midnight of the date on your ARC. you can apply for an extension though, but i believe there's a fee for that |

No fee for a temporary extension (up to 30 days) for travel purposes. You just need to show them your ticket out of the country, and they'll give you permission to stay until your date of departure. This can even be done online at http://www.hikorea.go.kr. |

Yesor you can do it online after creating an account at the website I mentioned. Then you do the e-application for "Temporary extension of stay for departure of registered foreigner," you'll just need to upload an electronic copy of your e-ticket or scan of the paper ticket (they accept several formats: jpg, pdf, html, etc.). |

Yeah. I finish on the 28th but sure would be darn nice to leave on the Sunday, not jet out thursday 2 hours after I finish work. In the USA, you have, I believe, a 2 week grace period. Man. |

You do NOT have any grace period.
You MUST:
1) leave the country by midnight on the last day indicated on your ARC.
2) file for a FREE extension by showing your departure ticket, passport and ARC. You do this at your local immigration office.
3) get a contract extension if you need to WORK past the last date indicated on your ARC. There is a 30k won fee for this and there is some additional paperwork as well. You do this at your local immigration office as well.
NOT doing one of the 3 listed above WILL result in being DELAYED by immigration at your time of departure AND will result in a fine of NOT LESS THAN 100k won.
