Really weird. I was watching some video on youtube yesterday, and there was a link to a Howard Stern video, with stuttering Tom ambushing Chevy Chase. I watched it, then there was another link to him interview, yes, you guessed it, Roy Scheider. It was circa 1985 or something, and he was pretty cool about it. Totally did great with S. Tom's stupid ass questions, was a good sport, and shot him down a couple times.

As I recall, he was pretty good as Dr. Benway in Naked Lunch.

Just watched 2010 (sequel to Space Odessey 2001) a couple of days ago. Recommend it too, if not just to work out wtf 2001 was about.
I always have liked this actor except when he played the bad guy once in a shoot em up movie. It wasn't so good. Apart from that, excellent.
See 2010 if you haven't yet. Roy Scheider as lead actor.

I liked Scheider in 2010, too. Remember the original Dr. Floyd? 2001

The Police's Andy Summers wrote and arranged a variation on the old theme. I could not find the original video, from the film. But this will do since it is the original music.
