This morning I asked my co-teacher about renewing the contract at my p.s. in Gyeonggi. The current contract ends at the end of April.

This afternoon she gave me an evaluation form, to fill in my details.

At the bottom of the form I think there were 3 options, which included the option to accept or deny a renewal.

My co-teacher has always said I do a good job, despite the fact we can't stand each other. I get on o.k. with the P and VP, but my co-teacher doesn't like either of them, and the P doesn't like her.

I expect with a high degree of confidence the Principle will agree to renew my contract. But at the same time, I feel unsure whether he will definitely agree.

Why? No reason, I just get a feeling in my gut something unexpected could happen, but there is no reason to back that up, other than the fact I'm in Korea.

I'd be shocked if they declined to renew my contract. What do you think?

Strange one.

Basically what the Principal says goes. He is actually of a higher status than the SMOE, EPIK and GEPIK supervisors who place the teachers. So if he thinks your doing a good job then he'll want to keep you. Regardless of clashes between him and you co-teacher.

ALthough I'm not sure of the hiring options of getting a new teacher. PS's generally keep hold of good teachers. I doubt it's much like Hagwon's where if you're a bad teacher then the director is paying from his own pocket for incompetence.

Hope it works out.

At hagwons it's often more of a case of Minsu's mom wantiong more games, and Ji Won's mom wanting more homework, and Minsu and Ji Won wanting to go to the PC room rather than English class.
