|
|
Hi. I taught in Korea before and married a Korean lady. We are planning to go back now, but I have some questions about what is going to be the best way. I was thinking about finding work after I get there, so that I could see the school and maybe even my living accommodations. Because I am married to a Korean, I wouldn't have to leave Korea to change my visa, correct? Also, what kind of visa do I need to enter as a spouse? Can I just go with her, or do I need to apply for a certain visa? Thanks for any information or guidance you can provide. |

You'll need to apply for an F-2 visa. Since it's legal to work on an F-2, you won't need to change visas (hence no visa run) if you get a job.
Go to http://www.hikorea.go.kr then choose Information -> Immigration Guide to get information on the various types of visas. |

Nope. F-2 is a residence visa. An F-2-1 is the working visa working visa you're looking for. After a couple years you want the great and mighty f-5. |

The dash designations were abolished a year or two ago. There is now just one F-2 visa, and its holders are entitled to work without any additional endorsement. |
