Warning: Possibly a stupid question.
If I buy a Korean PS2 game from e-mart, can I switch it to English? |

Check the back of the game case, it will tell you the language used in the game. PS2's are region coded so make sure the region of the console matches that of the game. Another option is taking the console down to the games place by the Yongsan electronics market (near the huge cellphone bazaar) and getting it modded to play copied games (not sure if that affects region coding of original games). |

Yup.. you can mod it but be careful. There are good mod chips and there are bad ones. The Koreans will try to sell and install a crappy cheap mod that won't play other regions. Koreans don't know English and so wouldn't want to play an English game .
I had mine modded and this is what they did to me. I had to order a different mod chip from the net and take it to the store for them to install.
Screwed me out of 50,000 won.
--New one is great!!! Any region and copy DVD's that I download and burn. You can download the iso from the net and burn your own DVD's. |

OK, so my question may seem even stupider now.
I have the mod chip, I am curious wether or not a E-mart game will have the option of being played in English? |

1. Check the region code on your PS2 first. If the game you buy doesn't match your machine, it won't play.
2. E-mart sells Korean games. They don't sell English games. It may be possible that some of the games have the option to pick the language you wish to play them in. You can usually check this by checking the game options/details on the back of the case.
Hope that helps. |

Go to Yongsan. Buy lots of games there. If you are interested I can hook you up with a guy I've been going to for years. |

I want to get my PS2 modded. How much does it cost ? How long does it take ? I am closer to Songtan than Yongsan, so I may go to Songtan. Does anyone here have a Songtan modding experience ? |
