I never imagined I'd be living in a country where any significant fraction of the population thought torture was OK. And all it took was a bunch of yahoos flying airplanes into tall buildings.
It's almost enough to make me think the cynics were right, that America never really was what I grew up thinking it was. This election will be a clarifying one in many ways. |
