How much would a public school normally shell out in Chonsae money per teacher? I know they usually offer a housing allowance of 300,000 per month, but I don't know how much they are willing to put down for school provided housing. Apartments are very different, and I don't want to get scammed on quality. |

I heard from a lot of teachers in the Masan area that schools usually use 5 million won for key money. My school is getting theirs back on March 1st with one less teacher. |
So that's key money plus rent, like woelsae? What about if they just plunk down a large chunk and pay no rent? |

Public schools spend most of their budget each year, they probably have too. They don't carry to much surplus in the account.
Ours was 6M down (all the school had at the time), and monthly rent of 650K. This for a 15-17 m2 villa in a newer part of town, where there are many affluent young people. 2 small rooms of the main room, and even if had a cat there is noway we could swing it.
