Well?
And, before you post "You forgot to add "Blah Blah Blah," know that I posted the people that would actually get votes in the poll... |

Wouldn't it depend on who won the nomination?
You forgot to add Wesley Clark. He is a definite possibility, especially with a Dem running against McCain. |

Doubt many people want the job as it'll ruin their future plans when they lose. |

Gore isn't in the 'running'. He has his own thing going on now. I could see him being given some kind of new position like "Ambassador to the Environment" or maybe the head of the EPA (if it were given more funds/muscle). This in exchange for his endorsement. Edwards, I understand, is seeking to be attorney general (the Slate Gabfest podcast said he approached Obama with this, and O said 'no').
For Obama, Bill Richardson would be a very good choice. He is Hispanic (which deals with Obama's biggest demographic problem) and his wide experience in foreign affairs could mute some of the criticism that will be thrown at him by the Repubs, should he win the nomination. Other than him I'm largely unfamiliar with the other potential choices.
For Clinton, Obama would be the best choice. This might be the best choice for Obama as well, as he would then be looking at a potential 16 year time in the White House. I doubt this will happen, though. |

I've heard the name Evan Bayh from Indiana thrown around. Did I spell that right?
But I voted Edwards |

If it is Clinton it will probably be Bob Kerry. I don't know who Obama would choose right now. |

LOL! Hilarious list. I can just about guarantee that it will not be any of those people. Edwards is a longshot possibility in the event that he cuts a deal for his piddling 26 delegates. |

My problem is not with the list, but the speculation due to the fact that it is still very early in the process. And as one person said, it very much depends on who wins the nomination. Both Clinton and Obama will look for people who compliment and strengthen the ticket regionally and in terms of their experience.
There is a good chance the nominee will have some pressure on them to add someone from the western part of the US (especially given the fact McCain is from Arizona).
Gore would not run under any circumstance that I can foresee (and he certainly wouldn't run for VP). He has even said he will not endorse either Clinton or Obama in the primary. I agree with notking that Edwards wouldn't accept the VP slot, he's young enough he could run again. |

agree with the first part, but think even saying "long shot" for edwards is being generous to that possibility. Also agree with thepeel, think richardson would be a good choice for Obama. Would help win more latino votes and richardson has that foreign policy background that Obama lacks. |

Edwards is not a good choice, he was a cut and run running mate for Kerry, absolutely no help to Kerry.
Joe Biden would be the best choice, especially for Obama.
Would Joe accept?
For Hilary I would see John Kerry as a potential,
but I would advise her to choose Wes Clark.
I could also see Obama accepting the VP slot.
Also left out:
Ted Strickland (Ohio)
Tom Vilsack (Iowa)
Kathleen Sebelius (Kansas)
Tim Kaine (Virginia)
Claire McCaskill (Missouri)
Tom Daschle |

Edwards is supposedly angling for Attorney General. He might be able to do some mixing in that role.
I think a good number of people on your list could be cabinet members, but not VP.
I don't think Hillary would give up her Senate seat though.
The interesting thing would be if Powell comes back to work in either an Obama or Clinton White House. |

Ron Paul????
You're kidding, right?
He's not even a Democrat- He's a Rethugican. AND he's more interested in winning a House seat. Why would he show up on a Democratic ticket? |
