This is not what GEPIK officials said to all of us in the auditorium at Everland.
Dear all,
If you wish to renew your contract at your current school, you will need the following documents ;
1. Visa Extension Application
2. Passport and your Alien Registration Card
3. New contract
4. Sponsorship Certificate (from school)
5. A copy of Certificate of School / Business Registration (from school)
6. Processing Fee
If you happen to renew your contract AFTER March 15, 2008, you will need the following in addition ;
1. New Criminal Record Certificate, apostillized / embassy notarized (for Canadians only)
2. New Health Check Certificate
Please note that for those who had their initial E2 visa issued by the Superintendent of GPOE, you may be exempted from providing the above two documents. However this is at the discretion of the case officers at each Immigration Office.
Please check out the new portal website for foreignors concerning all visa issues on
http://www.g4f.go.kr ("government for foreignors") or call, (English & Korean) 02) 2650 6399 for more / updated information for yourself. You can also renew your E2 visa on-line without visiting the office through the above-mentioned website.
Thank you.
Wenise Kim

It's called "Extension of Stay for Registered Foreigners." It's located in the E-application section of the website. This is not to be confused with the "Temporary Extension of Stay for Departure of Registered Foreigners," which is the (up to) 30 day travel extension that requires you to produce proof of your departure plans (i.e., a scan of your ticket). |

I don't think you can apply for an E2 online, but you can apply for an extension. |

What about visa runs? Is GEPIK 100% certain that visa runs are no longer required? GEPIK lied at Everland. How can we trust them now? |

A visa run was never required to renew your visa. I worked at the same school for two years and never did a visa run. Just take in the proper documents (listed above) and they extend it. |

GEPIk has already given us incorrect information. What
guarantee do we have that this new information is
correct? |
