Hi,
I left a E1 uni job last year.
I have been 'hired' at another uni, for 2008. They said they'd give me an E1 visa considering my experience etc.

So, they gave me a piece of paper and I went to the Imm Off. I was thrown out. The Immo guy said I needed a Letter of Recommendation form the MoE, and a Letter of Release from my old uni, and two other things that I've sicne forgotten (the TA took the piece of paper).

Now, the new place is saying that as I am not a scientist (am not and never have been) I need a whole bunch of new paperwork, and a trip to Japan.

I don't think my new uni is trying to be difficult, I think they just don't know how to get an E1. The Immo office never answers its phone.

My question is, if in 2005 I could get an E1 (Applied Linguistics) why in 2008 can I only get one of I'm a scientist? Does anyone out there know anything?
