okay, the new regulations wouldn't have stopped Chris Paul Neil from coming to korea - had these new rules been in place.. - he had a clean record and an established resume.

So... the new regulations are going to scare foreigners (esp. first timers) into choosing Japan instead of Korea. I think this will be esp. true for higher qualified teachers with masters degrees, who will find it easier to teach in their native countries. This will create "less supply" (less candidates), thus, better demand - this is good for us.

agree or disagree?

Are you "Hypothetical Situation Man"? You seem to enjoy this stuff, as I've seen you starting other threads with the same format.

I'll play along (but no voting for me, as I don't trust the government).

CPN was a negative influence. Do you know why? Because he was a fucking scumbag that raped children.

Go think up a better hypothetical for discussion.

hi,

this is not a hypothetical situation. I think you just embarrassed yourself by misreading (skim reading) and not thinking! I'm asking people if they think the tighter measures will create a stronger demand for teachers. Please channel your hogwon anger elsewhere.

Also, you should have said "CPN IS a negative influence" WAS implies that he isn't a negative influence now.

Just think,

ell

I'd have voted, but the poll was too skewed towards getting the answers you wanted.

skewed? You had an option to agree or disagree with my theory that the tighter measures will create less supply of teachers, thus a stronger demand.

pretty simple amigo

Okay, I did skim because that has been your M.O., Hypo Man. Embarrassed? Why the *beep* would I care?

And are you slamming hagwon workers? What's wrong with them? I know many that are very cool people. I suppose you are trying to point out that you have a different way to make your coin and therefore you are better than them. Frankly, that's lame.

Sorry for this, Inukshuk, you're just the latest - but really, how hard is the whole less/ fewer concept?
And on your other thread, it's the Coens, not Cohens. And Fargo is their best, followed closely by Lebowski and Blood Simple.

Agreed. And was a neg influence, is subjective. He's currently in a Thai jail, where he belongs, & isn't harming any more kids. But his unsavoury legacy lives on, & is still impacting on Korean's negative perceptions of foreigners.

ps: You might want to correct "tigher", to "tighter".

so nobody has answered about the supply and demand factor. I've read a few comments about "negative influence", which is not what my post is about.

**I'll repeat for the 10th time. Will the new regulations scare folks off, thus creating less supply, thus creating greater demand.

If you answer "CPN is a negative influence", I want to check for your lobotomy scars.

i haven't made any negative comments about hogwon teachers. I taught at a hogwon for 2 years. But the job is high stress and the managers are super cunning - which leaves workers disgruntled (including me). The force of that anger is released in diatribe based posts on dave's esl cafe.

TWG never read it properly and jumped to conclusions.

This thread went over like a wet fart in church.

(I take some responsibility. Sorry to my fellow Davizens.)
