I've noticed that alot of the non-Koreans that I'm meeting don't seem to have explored much in there personal lives outside of Korea. People out here don't seem very accomplished.

I'm just interested on who is really out here, and what kind of person is attracted to Korea...

Most people are young graduates, and haven't had time yet. Nothing special there. You should be a bit more specific too.

Why dont you just say 'most people here are knobheads' ? That would make more sense and be truer, by saying people arent accomplished I think you sound pretentious, which you probably are, you knobhead

As an academic I was a complete journeyman who graduated from an decent institution with an average degree.

However I hope to make something of boxing and hope to move to Bundang next year to make this dream come true! Cool

EDIT: I'm more accomplished than a lot of the halfwits back home who choose to live in a dreary, souless tosshole doing a job they despise

Them 'You are so lucky, I wish I could live abroad'

Me: 'Well why don't you?'

Them 'Well I can't, you see blehblehbleh'

'Learned helplessness' is fact folks!

In Korea? Or back in the states?

Korea has took a hold of me and my original plan to move to Peru has took a backseat for another year.

I'm coming back next march for a PS job in Seoul or in one of its suburbs (preferably Bundang)

Thats good money and you keep a lot of it, my brother worked down in Ardmore down in Sussex- beware though - its full of Korean students! Laughing So if you have left thinking 'no more Koreans for me' you might be in for a shock! Laughing

The food was good as was the crack with the other teachers, one thing he hated was taking the Korean students shopping in London, they all wanted to go to the burberry shop! (and of course there are better things to do that keep an eye on a load of Korean brats running around the London underground on your Saturday)

My brother came thisclose to chinning one of the Korean adult mentors, the poor dear must have thought he was back in his hagwon talking to the grammar teacher.

Actually, my claim to fame is working in the porn business for eight months before starting my Masters. Sigh, now there was a time...
