I'm applying for a teaching job which requires references from previous employers. I've just done a year at a hagwon. Before that, I taught English in other countries.
The application form asks for a reference from my most recent employer. But, to be honest, I don't whether to put down the boss of the Korean hagwon where I worked - the guy could barely string a sentence together in English.
I think there are other people who would be more capable of judging my abilities as an English teacher.
But would an employer be suspicious if I didn't put down my most recent employer? What do you reckon? |

| They never check your references. Are you still on good terms with your old boss? Usually you just type up your own reference on the company letterhead and get the boss to sign and stamp it. |
