I am looking for a proper "western style" vacuum cleaner with a beater bar, new or second hand. If any one knows where to buy one or knows someone trying to sell one please let me know.

Thanks for your reply, but none of those vacuums has a beater bar (you know that cylinder that spins around and agitates the carpet?) they are really only suitable for floors. Very difficult to find anything to do a decent job on a carpet.

Try E-mart, or the Yongsan ELand building. I bought mine near there. It has a beater-bar, but it's not incredibly powerful. They had other models.
