I've made a free online phonetics tutorial. It's at:

www.youtube.com/efljack

I'd just like to share my work, and get input from linguists.

Thanks,

Jack

Yeah its a bit complex unless you are learing at an older age. I always hated those Thai language books that would try to represent a sound with a meaningless symbol like those upside down ee's. Just get it close and maybe tape the way you move your mouth when making the sound. It does help a bit. I'm not sure of your target audience but I know Koreans have problems with clusters and words ending in consonants and only imersion can cure it.

My nephew who is six, found it enjoyable, and it seem to be helping him. It's probably most helpful for students that want to mimic an American west cost dialect. I'm mostly looking for mistakes, or possible ways to improve it. I plan on making an updated version of this tutorial in about six months.

I also plan on trying to make at least one new tutorial every month, so I'd love to hear opinions on what my next one should be about.

Thanks,

Jack
