Hi there, I'm looking to buy a relatively new desktop and monitor, I'll pay a max of 300 000 depending on the specs. Please let me know what you've got... I'm located in Ilsan, but I'll travel to Seoul if necessary. Cheers!

I was at Yongsan last week and you can get bottom end entry desktops brand new for 200,000 plus monitor.

Thanks yeah I know yongsan is the place to go but I lack the confidence in my korean to deal with potentially shady cpu dealers, and looking for mid-range machine that can play oblivion or something at a good price.

Oblivion? It takes a fairly hefty machine to run the outdoor scenes well. Might be awful hard pressed to do it for 300k.

*edit*
Yep, I just checked and you're going to want at LEAST a geforce 7900 to run outdoors scenes well. That card is going to run you close to 100k, and you're going to need a better processor and more RAM than what will be in those 200k systems, so you're going to have to kiss either the 300k or the oblivion dream good bye.

It's running Ubuntu at the moment, but like I say in the above post, I'll include a copy of XP for you to reinstall. Or you could try running it under WINE, (pre-installed on this machine):

I don't know if it would work with this video card or not.

Happy hunting.

Hi rabies.kills thanks for posting that. I am interested in what you've got there, but I'll have to think it over a bit.... don't know much about linux but I've wanted to learn for some time. I'll check back in a day or two.
