So I got fired (or rather, forced to leave due to knowing my boss was screwing the secretary out of wedlock) the other day and was given a letter of release to take down to immi when I get a new job. I have been offered a new job, and am wondering what process I will go through.

I have been at this place for 19 months (for those of you teaching math in Korea, that's only 7 months into this visa/contract). Does this mean that I will have to go through the new visa regs? CRC, med check, etc.? Also, for any of you that did it, how do you get the apostille (sp?) from abroad? I can get a notarized copy of my CRC by mail, but then do I have to mail it BACK to the states to get it apostilled? Thanks for your input!

If you apply before Mar. 15, you will be exempt fom the new regs.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was worried about the 10-month (previously 9-month) stipulation that you be through your contract a certain amount of time before not having to go through hoops.
