Modded? You don't mod them you buy an R4 cartridge with a small memory chip(2 gig or 4 gig). You use an adapter to put the memory chip into the USB port on your computer and download the games you want to the chip. Then put the chip back into the R4 cartridge and play away. Easy as pie. |

For a few dollars more, you could have a PSP w. custom firmware, but to each his own. |

I am assuming that if you buy a DS in korea you can't play games bought from other countries. Can anyone confirm this for me. |

Don't buy games in Korea...get the R4 and download games for free from the internet. Hell...buy it and post here and I will tell you where to get the games. It is easy. The DS has many languages..set it up to be English and play American games.

Wouldn't sell me one.

DS is region free.
Don't waste your time/money on a PSP. |

Is it really region free? That's awesome if it is.
So around 200 you say, eh?
I'm actually buying this for the wife for christmas, she is really into the nintendo games.
I've tried convincing her to get a psp so we could use it for other things instead of just games... but like you said to each his own.
anyway, I'll go to yongsan this weekend and try to hook one up.
thanks for the replies. |

The ds can play songs and movies and can be used as an internet browser. It's not just for playing games. |

When I was at Yongsan about a week ago I was quoted 135,000 for the DS Lite system on it's own. I didn't ask about the R4. |

Yep. Before I had an R4 I was playing Japanese as well as USA games. I highly recommend picking up an R4 (4GB) though. It's really what makes the DS stand out over the PSP. |

Songs ok, movies-not even half as good as a decent PMP, Internet browser? Come on. Trying to browse on a 256*192 screen has got to be an exercise in water torture.
I had a DSLite for about 7months before getting my UMPC. I think it was great for what it did best-games. |
