|
|
Hello,
I have 3 boxes of clothes that have been given to me by other people and my own that don't fit or I don't want. I was wondering where to donate the clothing. I've heard that there are green boxes but have never actually seen them. I live in the Nowon area if anyone knows of any around here.
I've also heard and read about the last ladies clothing swap which was apparently a success and I wanted to throw the idea out there about doing another one. With people leaving and new people coming theres lots of stuff out there that could find a new home.
If anyone is interested maybe we could set something up. I'd be open to hosting but live in Nowon in Northeast Seoul. |

Hey,
I hosted the last ladies' clothing swap. It was definitely a lot of fun - we had great food and a great time trying on new things. We're doing work in the apartment now though, and it isn't in any condition to hold a gathering.
My advice if you're looking to hold a swap: have a plan for the clothes that will be left over. I had just moved to this area and didn't know where to donate clothes, so I ended up storing about 6 large trash bags of them in the stairway to the roof. Fortunately on Halloween there was a clothes drive just down the street from me and we were able to unload.
Maybe springtime would be a good time to consider having one. People want new clothes for the warmer weather, and it's just generally a nicer time to get together. Let's keep floating the idea around.. maybe by then we will have gotten our place in order and I can think about hosting again. |

I wouldn't mind hosting for swap. My apartment is really large. I live in Itaewon. I also have a clothing donation place RIGHT by apartment, too. |

If anybody knows of a clothing donation place around Byeongjeom or Suwon, that would be great information. I have a ton of clothing to get rid of and I'd rather not throw it away. |

I leave in a month and would love to unload some stuff. I'm in if it's in February. |

I'd be in too. I packed lots of stuff I have no use for here (show too many of my tattoos and so on). Hopefully someone would have some use for it. |

Awesome, I'm in. Itaewon would be a great place to hold it. I live nearby, so I could help out afterwards with the donation, cleanup, etc. |

If it's in February I'd be in, too. I leave the first week of March and have lots of stuff that doesn't fit me well anymore, that I don't want to have to bring home or throw away. Itaewon seems like a good area. I'm pretty close to there. If this goes down, let me know! |

How about we start talking dates? I'm guessing any time around Seollal will be bad because people are traveling, and a lot of people are leaving at the end of the month. How about the 16th or 17th? Saturdays are usually better because too many people are hungover on Sundays and miss out. |

I'm hosting a veggie potluck on the 16th, but if it's on any other day, I'm in. I vote 17th! Anyway, Sundays make more sense, because some people work on Saturdays. |

Well, my apartment has a party room and if there is a lot of people that would be the place to do it. I will be out of town on the weekend of the 16th because it is a holiday weekend. So I think the 10th of the 24th would be best for me.
I just realized the 10th is the weekend of Lunar New Year. I guess the 24th would probably be the best time for me. |

Ok, so my trip on the 16-17th was canceled. So this weekend is actually best for me. 17th? Sound good? I have loads of "big girl" clothes. |

17th works well for me as well. What times are people thinking about? |
