I was wondering, which cities in South Korea are the Koreans most likely to be able to speak English. That is a important factor in my decision of where I'd like to teach. Obviously Seoul will have more people speaking English than rural areas, but are there other cities that I wouldn't expect to have many people who speak English?
I'm interested in teaching in Busan or Ulsan. Am I likely to meet many Koreans who speak English in either of these cities? |

In Busan (as the second biggest city in Korea) you are likely to find many Koreans who can speak some English.
But if you are talking about those who speak English at a native speaker level or near to it..then not so many relatively speaking. |

Ok, thanks. I don't expect Native speaker fluency from any Koreans. I've taught in Thailand before and it's hard enough finding people who speak English well enough to have a conversation. Between Thailand and South Korea, Thailand should have more English speaking people because Thailand has tons of tourism. But South Korea has much better education than Thailand. I'm not sure which would contribute more to people's English skills |
