...yes, NOT one of you who have been dedicating your lives to Korean children by teaching them English for years and years, but rather :

Quote:
The mayor of Milan, the Italian hub of fashion, on Monday became an honorary Seoul citizen, pledging to cooperate with a design expo to be held in Seoul, officials from the Seoul metropolitan government said.
Milan Mayor Letizia Morati said after receiving an honorary certificate from Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon that her city "will participate actively" in the World Design Olympics to be hosted by Seoul in October, they said.

At least someone from a REAL hub.

every hub needs a cap.

i remember a few years back taiwan gave (honorary?) citizenship to folks who had dedicated their lives there. a couple nuns and an english teacher, IIRC.

What's the over-under on when Korea will give Honorary citizenship to an English teacher for good works?

i'd be EXTREMELY surprised if that ever happened. they probably just gave it to the italian mayor to encourage her participation and to sound like big shots. giving honorary citizenship to an english teacher would most likely annoy a majority of korea

Hey, why honor foreigners working to better Korea? (and I'm not talking about English teachers) Why on earth would the missionaries, nurses, doctors, soldiers, or academics be honored? Even in death significant foreigners aren't allotted much consideration:
