Look, I'm as atheist as the next guy. And I don't mind laying out a lot of criticism of the beliefs of the folks that believe in this supernatural nonsense.

But the purposefully made Christianity-bashing threads are getting a bit out of hand. And it's getting lamer than a American vs Canadian, or a Western women vs Korean women thread.

So, I ask that everyone, you know, keep it in their pants or something. It's making everyone here look like a retard.

I agree. We should have a religion-free week.

Quote:
Atheist is Deacon's cyber-doppelganger. Deacon and Atheist hold equally fervent, though diametrically opposed beliefs about religion, and both feel compelled to share those beliefs at every possible opportunity. Should an unsuspecting forum member make even a passing comment about faith or spirituality of any flavor, Atheist will descend like one of the Furies, mercilessly hectoring all of the ignorant and delusional believers about the sordid history of the church and the pernicious effects of religion on society. After a few of Atheists anti-religious jeremiads most other Warriors will avoid the subject altogether, though Evil Clown may egg him on a little, and Philosopher may amuse himself by pointing out flaws in his reasoning. If a forum has the misfortune of having both Deacon and Atheist as members, the bickering often continues until Nanny or Admin pulls the plug. Bliss Ninny can also sometimes squelch the conversation by saying, Well, everyone has a right to their [sic] opinion.

I agree twg. And as for the mods, I'm not sure what they should do. Despite the lameness of these threads, I don't care for censorship. However, there are too many threads that seem almost identical once you get past the first two or three posts. Maybe they should just make an "I hate religion and religious people" sticky thread.

why not have constant anti-christianity threads?

there's tons of threads whinging about korean-on waegookin racism, why not address a force that does its utmost, i mean CONSTANTLY GOES OUT OF ITS WAY to keep the world from progressing?

all those dummies who picket scientology offices are cowards. if they had real cojones they'd try to take down the churches. it's like going to a high school and beating up the computer nerds instead of steakhead jocks.

just sayin'.

I knew a guy who had a theory that one of the mods was actually one of the people who was posting a lot of the anti-christian stuff.

I never believed it, though.

rules of the thumb:
some religions are more bashable than others.
mormons, jehovas and scientologists are openly ridiculed.
christians are easy targets.
other religions still get to maintain their auras and any discussion of them, or policices of their devout adherents is not tolerated and such threads get pulled ASAP.

the double (actually triple) standard is fascinating. try it yourself and see.

I guess I missed the "fun" boat.

At this point I count 4 against/for Christian threads in the forum. Debating is ok, but if any more appear they'll be banished.

Hey, I went to that site and found Steve McGarrett!

He shall be known as "ALLCAPS":-

Quote:
ALLCAPS attempts to compensate for his limited rhetorical weaponry through the extravagant use of capitalized words - something netizens refer to as SHOUTING. Sure, a sprinkling of capitalized words can add some zip to a thrust, but they should be used sparingly. Even worse from a tactical point of view, too much shouting alerts other Warriors to the opponent's verbal WEAKNESS and emotional EXCITABILITY.

I agree. So whenever I see such a thread ahead of this one I'm just gonna automatically bump this. But ya know it's gonna be replaced with another bandwagon-bashing of some other nation, people or religion which I'm against.....unless it's about the Japanese. JOKE!
