I'm guessing it's some kind of copyright protection, but I'm having trouble putting downloaded vids onto my ipod in such a way that I can actually watch them on my ipod. Is there any way around this?

Also, the only way that I get get my photos synch'd to my ipod was to first copy them manually to the ipod drive, then synch them. In other words, I can synch them directly from my computer's hard drive. Surely there must be a quicker way.

Thanks for any help.

MD

For downloaded videos, you must generally convert them into a format that the iPod will recognize. There are a variety of programs that will do this.

After than, you must add those files to your itunes library, and from there, add the videos to your ipod.

Photos are the same, add your photos folder to itunes, then from there you can add them to your ipod.

Search online for handbrake and isquint. Handbrake is a media converter (ie take your dvds and vcds and make them readable files for your ipod). Isquint allows you to change the format of files which you already have ripped to a computer such as downloads.

I guess we should have asked what operating system the OP was using. My advice was as an XP/Vista user. Handbrake and isquint I guess are for Macs.

Well, what do you know? I could have used that information a few months ago. Ah well.
