I'm trying to do a temporary extension of my visa. Expires on a thursday want to fly out on a monday. Anyway, I go to the immi site and try to apply online for the application. Guess what? The system won't take applications after 6 pm and on weekends. Ummm. Web sites are given time off? Can anyone think of a rational reason why a web site tied to some kind of database has hours of operation limited to human working hours?

Korea sparkling!

It's my fault.

I told them you don't like the pith helmet guy, and that you were currently trying to extend your visa.

You won't have any luck at the immigration office, either.

Start selling your stuff now. May as well go home. Wink

Your thought processes are all wrong. The Immigration computer is NOT tied to a data base.

Quit thinking logically - you're in K-land. Wink

Doh! Right the trained monkey who probably has to stamp things "rejected, apply in person" needs time off. Doh!

If a NASDAQ listed company (GMARKET) can't get their sign up page to work. What are the chances that a government office can get their pc's to work after 6pm. It's soju time then.

So I go to the immi site to register when apparently their computer is holding human office hours. Alright. I try to register. Now which button would you pick? Foreigner or Foreigner residing in Korea? Hmmm. I'm a foreigner and I appear to be residing in Korea. So I pick that option. It wants you to input your info from your ARC. I click confirm. It tells me my name is not real. Tell that to my mother.

Anyway, I try a couple more times with variations on my name. No luck.

I register via another means that doesn't require an ARC but I can't get to the visa extension page. That option is not available via this registration. Geez.

I try again the whole process but pick the simple foreigner option. Lo. It worked.

I guess the 'foreigners residing in Korea relates to F visa holders?' You should email the contact and ask them to put visa numbers in the click boxes.

Yeah I'm kind of thinking that. One would think "foreigner" would be for those not living in Korea. People applying from outside.

It must be shut down so that the cooling fan doesn't cause it to die.
