So you've been in Korea for sometime and have settled in - maybe you've been here a few weeks or are a 10 year veteran.
If you knew before what you know now about living and working in Korea what would you have done differently?
For me some simple things come to mind:
1: I would have stocked up on Western brand medications.
2: I would have started studying Korean online before I even arrived.
3: I would have brought photo albums from home or at least have put photos online so I could walk down memory lane whenever the urge took me.
4: I wouldn't have brought across a Western hair dryer as appliances are cheap here.
5: I wouldn't have brought books as they're easy to get online or at Kyobo.
How about you all? What do you wish you'd known before so that you could have made your Korean life more comfortable, or saved yourself some hassle. |

#1 it's all the same everywhere
#2 good idea
#3 it's called facebook
#4 you must not have lived/traveled abroad before
#5 read something less generic, nothing I read can be had unless I mail order it |

Break up with girlfriend before leaving would have been easier than doing it here over the phone. |

I agree about the photos from home - I don't have any photos of my family or my hometown on my facebook because.. why would I? I think I'd really like a video of someone driving through downtown, or walking around my neighbourhood. Seems silly but I think it would help a lot with the homesickness. |

Why not bang chicks over here, then bang her when you get back without telling her?
Sounds like a win-win to me

I wouldn't have wasted so much time and money traveling between contracts. I'm in my third year and I took about 3 months off after each contract. I had a blast both times, but looking back it was defn. too much. |
