I just got off the phone with the consulate in Vancouver. My passport is in the mail stamped with my E-2 and I didn't have to have an interview.
I have had E-2's before ( 6 years in Korea) so I guess if you've had a number of visas in the past Vancouver is willing to forgo the interview.
Just wanted to share the information. |

You dont have to do an interview if you have had an e2 before just to let you know...Nothing new there |

That's theoretically true, but in practice it's entirely up to the consulate. |

Forget about that, here is the exciting news:
For those living in Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Yukon, no need to go to the consulate for interviews. You can now do a video self-introduction and send it on CD.
I hope Toronto and Montreal follow suit.
We've also had clients in New Brunswick do the interview via webcam with Montreal, so that's a good step too.
Come on Toronto (and the rest of the US), time to step up!
