So I spent the afternoon tramping around the Sindang area looking at new beds. I finally settled on what appears to be a Korean model made in China with a German name, and photos of German guys on the literature (funny, but it's true). I like it, but something bothers me a bit...

They offered to take my old mattress for 10,000 won. My wife said we should do this, because the Gu office will charge that much to take it anyway. No problem. The thing is, I had 2 mattresses to throw out. I actually had a really hard Korean-style mattress on the bottom (hard enough to be considered a box-spring, IMHO, and an old latex mattress on the top. The latex one is pretty old now, and needed to be replaced.

But the guys wouldn't take that -- they would only take the spring one.

So this got me thinking.... what are they going to do with that old spring bed? Why wouldn't they take the latex one?

Do you think they are going to just resurface the old spring mattress? Was it impossible to re-use the old latex one, and is that why they refused to take it?

Hmm....

You've got a new bed to christen and you are concerned about the old mattress. Get your priorities straight.
