is saying goodbye to the amazing people that you meet here when they move on or go back home. In the last few weeks we have lost alot of good "lifers" here in the Gu.

I have made some amazing friends in this country and I just don't like saying goodbye...but as a fella once said "it is what it is". (damn you Bertuzzi) Wink

All the best lads and thanks for the good times....

I totally hear that. I have met some amazing people. From all corners of the world, so to speak.

You'll see these, your real buds, again. It'll just be at a later point in future for people with good hearts and minds are God's gift to Us.

Sincerely,

thanks Roch. Im going to make a more conscious effort to enjoy the company of my good friends here in Korea.
The older I am getting it seems the more it really takes an effect on me saying goodbye. I like to think I will see them again and that is the attitude it will take to do so. Just had a bad night tonight. An acquantaince from home became a good friend here, in fact one of the best I could ever ask for. With the highs comes the lows right!?

It really is true folks...it is not where you been but where your're between! Enjoy the moment.

Cheers

I've lost a lot of good friends in the last few months, all long-termers.

I've been thinking about that recently too.. it kinda puts me off making more close friends in the future.

With this lifestyle I suppose it's the nature of the beast!

Many feel it is now the time to leave....the cost/benefit ratio in Korea is changing.

Yup.

While the freak to good people balance is a little skewed towards the freaks here in Korea, it's the good people you'll remember.

Most of the lads I know left just felt it was time to move on. The guy with the least amount of years under his belt was here for 4 years. Another one of my buddies was just tired of it. The noise, the lack of parks and the constant look of concrete. He is married with a kid and another on the way and just wanted to give them a better quality of life.

I just signed up into an investment plan that will keep me here longer, but seeing the thread about privates and how they are cracking down and really just the idea of being here that much longer makes me not feel so well about it.

Short term loss for a long term gain I guess...I can smell the flowers and plants in my backyard now! Damn I miss cutting the lawn!
