|
|
Posting for a friend here, who is hoping to renew her contract with the same employer in May.
Does anyone know if she will need the police check, medical, and other documents needed when applying for a new E2? Or is the process different if you are remaining at the same school?
We've tried googling, but as you can imagine different sources say different things! Any help would be much appreciated. |

I am in a similar situation. If she renews after March 15th, with the same school she will need a criminal check and medical check.
I am looking for other jobs, but I may stay where I am because it's convenient. |

All they'll have to do is go to immigration and extend their old Visa. It's not a new visa so they shouldn't have to jump through all the hoops. |

Not true.
Criminal checks are required after March 15th even for extensions. |

Seems most people think the paperwork has to happen. Not surprised. Thanks! |

It depends what date in May her visa expires.
One can renew current visas before March 15 and not have to go through with the new regulations. However, 10 months must already be completed on the current visa.
So, if your friend's visa expires in the first half of May, he/she could renew before March 15 and be fine.
If your friend's visa expries in the last hald of May, he/she is outta luck and has to conform to the new policies.
Hope this helps. |

If her visa expires before May 15 she can extend it up to 60 days prior and that would be BEFORE the march 15 deadline.
If she extends BEFORE march 15 she will only need her new contract, ARC, passport, copy of the school's business registration and sponsorship form.
IF she renews AFTER the march 15 deadline she will ALSO require the Criminal background check and medical.
