So it seems everywhere is different for the tests, some are saying it's a urine sample, and now I'm hearing it's all done by blood tests...
What's the conclusion, that it's all different and depends where you are? |

From the posts I've read, the consensus seems to be blood and urine tests. |

Blood for HIV, and something else...and the urine is for cannabis, and amphetamines? |

Not upon arrival, either. You have to get checked out and get your ARC within 90 days of getting your visa.
So don't smoke in Korea (ever) and just wait a month or two for your physical.
I've said this before, it's bullshit for Korea to try and test people for marijuana they smoked in another country. It's not breaking Korean law and doesn't affect the teacher in Korea.
And testing for AIDS, as being discussed in another current thread, it BS, too. |

I'm well aware it's B.S....I'm just curious.
I heard they can randomly test you for drugs if someone informs them you've been smoking or some crap... |

Yup. Just don't smoke in Korea and you'll be fine. Talk to people who do and they'll tell you the quality of herb sucks, too. Not worth risking a month or 5 in a K-prison for dirt weed. |

How many people would Korea have to send home if they tested your spelling on arrival?
Just wondering. Not a comment on anyone on this thread. |

Well, if they use the editors of the Korea Times to administer the test, I guess they wouldn't. Even if it was an open-book exam.
FYI,

The beep was "c*o*m*m*e*n*t".
I wouldn't want anyone to be offended by my beep.
Actually, the kids spell pretty darn good. If I make a mistake on the board in my haste, they are pretty quick to correct me!
There is hope for Korea, but it's going to take some time.
Oh, and I always thank them, and praise them, for correcting me. |
